SEA FISHERIES

The Inshore Fishing (Prohibition of Fishing and Fishing Methods) (Scotland) Amendment Order 1999

  Made 10th March 1999 
  Laid before Parliament 11th March 1999 
  Coming into force 1st April 1999 

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 1 of the Inshore Fishing (Scotland) Act 1984[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and having consulted such bodies as he considers appropriate, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement
     1.  - (1) This Order may be cited as the Inshore Fishing (Prohibition of Fishing and Fishing Methods) (Scotland) Amendment Order 1999 and shall come into force on 1st April 1999.

    (2) In this Order, "the principal Order" means the Inshore Fishing (Prohibition of Fishing and Fishing Methods) (Scotland) Order 1989[
2].

Amendment of principal Order
     2. The principal Order shall be amended by deleting article 8 (prohibition of fishing for crustaceans in Scapa Flow).

Revocations
    
3. Article 2 of the Inshore Fishing (Prohibition of Fishing and Fishing Methods) (Scotland) Amendment Order 1994[3] and article 2(2) of the Inshore Fishing (Prohibition of Fishing and Fishing Methods) (Scotland) Amendment Order 1996[4] shall be revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order amends the Inshore Fishing (Prohibition of Fishing and Fishing Methods) (Scotland) Order 1989 by removing the ban on fishing for crustaceans in Scapa Flow (article 2), and makes consequential revocations (article 3).
