Food Safety Authority of Ireland Act 1998 (Amendment of First and Second Schedules) Order 2006.

I, Sean Power, Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 5 of the Food Safety Authority of Ireland Act 1998 (No. 29 of 1998) and the Health and Children (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) (No. 3) Order, 2004 ( S.I. No. 844 of 2004 ), after consultation with the Minister for Agriculture and Food, the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government and the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources hereby order as follows:

1.         This Order may be cited as the Food Safety Authority of Ireland Act 1998 (Amendment of First and Second Schedules) Order 2006.

2.         (a)  Part II of the First Schedule to the Food Safety Authority of Ireland Act 1998 (No. 29 of 1998), is amended by the addition of:

OFFICIAL AGENCIES

Each of the following shall be an official agency for the purposes of this Act:

the Director of Consumer Affairs,

the Health Service Executive,

a local authority,

the Marine Institute,

the Minister for Agriculture and Food,

the Minister for Health and Children,

the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government,

the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources,

the National Standards Authority of Ireland,

the Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland,

the State Laboratory.
